FOUNDER’S STORY
Hi, I’m Shade (Sha-DAY), scent-obsessed, skin-loving, and the hands behind Olive Roe. I launched this playful little brand in 2018 because I couldn’t find skincare that felt as fun as it was natural.
My obsession with all things skincare began back in 2011. With a background in science, I dove deep into ingredients and cosmetic formulation, and quickly realised that most brands (even the “luxury” ones) fill their products with cheap, filler ingredients that do nothing for your skin.
So, I got crafty. It all started in my parents’ kitchen with a pan of shea butter, some coconut oil, and a dreamy playlist in the background. No fluff, no shortcuts, just high-performing, feel-good formulas made from natural, plant-based ingredients that don’t compromise effectiveness.
What began as DIYs for personal use and gifts for friends soon turned into a full-blown passion project, and eventually, a business. Now, I spend my days whipping butters, blending oils, pouring candles, and playing with colours, all to bring a little joy to your bathroom shelf.

And we get it, self-care shouldn’t cost the earth. That’s why we use eco-conscious, low-waste packaging like glass jars, aluminium tins, and compostable wraps. We're all about indulgence, but never at the planet’s expense. We are good to the Earth because the Earth is good to us.
